ESS 2018: A Legacy born
Esports Summit (ESS) is a legacy that started in 2018 and represented something the Egyptian esports community had never seen before: a large-scale professional esports event right in the heart of Cairo; an event attended by more than 5,000 attendees, featuring more than 20 games, and offering a prize pool of 150,000 EGP.
A phenomenon like no other, ESS 2018 became a legacy; a legacy that continued on to 2019, where both the number of attendees and prize pool doubled, and where the event featured the region’s biggest battle royale tournament with 100 PCs operating on-ground.

When COVID hit in 2020 and the world paused, we didn’t; rather, we took ESS online.
For two years, we powered through; the tournaments continued, the numbers grew, and the community stayed connected throughout these tough times.
ess 2025: the story continues
Today, ESS is one of the most popular and anticipated events in the MENA region, and its story is still to continue in 2025.
ESS is returning with its fifth edition in 2025 with a hybrid twist where players will compete in online qualifiers leading to the ultimate showdown in an offline finals event.
From the very beginning, ESS has played a key role in raising awareness about esports and its potential for both gamers and brands in the region. And to this day, it continues to elevate the status of the esports scene in the region; connecting gamers, brands, and sponsors.
