A Dream Turned Reality
The story of Esports Summit (ESS) began in 2018, when its founders dreamt of giving Egyptian gamers and esports players the opportunity to compete in a professional manner on the same level as the biggest esports tournaments in the world. From the very beginning, ESS was never just an event, but a platform where passion and competition united to create the chance for esports players to step onto the stage and join the rapidly growing esports movement.
ESS: The Esports Awakening in MENA
As the very first event of its kind in Egypt and MENA, Esports Summit’s start in 2018 was explosive. With more than 5,000 fans and 600 players coming together in one place, ESS 2018 featured more than 20 games and a prize pool of 150,000 EGP. By 2019, Esports Summit had doubled its attendance, attracting more than 10,000 attendees, with a prize pool of 300,000 EGP.

Resilience in the Face of the Pandemic
In 2020, when COVID forced the whole world to pause and put all live events on hold, ESS refused to stop, but turned its attention to online instead. With more than 30,000 registrations and 36 million online reach over two editions, ESS broke all records and proved the resilience and potential of esports in MENA, even in the face of crises.
ESS 2025: A Grand Return for a Grand Event
ESS is now ready to return for 2025 with its biggest and boldest edition yet, which will merge the best of both worlds: the accessibility of online qualifiers and the excitement of offline finals. The story of Esports Summit that began in 2018 is far from over, as it continues to change lives and make the dreams of esports come true.
